To Love is:

To love a person is to learn the song that is in their heart, and to sing it to them when they have forgotten.....

An angel or the real thing?

I have just received a phone call from my mother who enthusiastically and tearfully relayed a story she had just heard that happened in her home town in Paraguay.

My grandpa, my moms dad was a Baptist minister. He passed away when I was a young child.

Turns out this week 2 of my uncles my moms brothers were visited by an old neighbour they once had when my grandpa was alive. My grandpa used to always tell this neighbour that he needed to repent and accept Jesus as his Lord and Saviour, but this neighbour never responded. It was this same neighbour that enthusiastically and frantically visited my uncles and told this story.

He was taking a walk when he ran into "Timoteo Kowalzuk" who proceeded to hug him and tell him once again how he needed Jesus! The man replied that I am still young and to which "my grandpa" replied "no, Jesus is coming back soon and you need to repent right now"

Only after walking on did this man realize that my grandpa has been dead for many years! He then proceeded to my uncles house in which my uncles face dropped in shock and was speechless so this man proceeded to another town to locate my other uncle. It had been so long since they had seen each other that it took some time to recognize who was standing in front of them. That is when this man once again shared his story of the fact that "Timoteo" was real and even hugged him and how could this be?

The answer my uncle gave was the fact that even after so many years of his death, God is still honouring the prayers uttered on his behalf by his father and how much God does love him to pursue him in such a way!

Wow, makes me amazed at what God will do even after we have stopped praying. There truly is a right time and place for everything that happens under the heavens.

A short story:
Man driving down a road.
Woman driving up the same road.
They pass each other.
Woman yells out the window, PIG!
Man yells out window, BITCH!
Man rounds next curve.
Crashes into a HUGE PIG in middle of road.
Car flips over. Man dies.

Moral of the Story:
If only men would listen....

Ever heard of a Degu?

Here are chocolate! Plural because there are 2 but we can't tell them apart so they are both named chocolate.

Degu's are very gentle and never bite. They sure are fast though! so they are very hard to catch. Very intelligent too.

Face Book

Ever heard of www.facebook.com ??? Well it is a pretty incredible site in which you could connect with people you haven't seen in a long time.

It was pretty exciting to see that Marc Lecour started a "youth at KRT" and looking at the pictures of the Dale era was quite amusing. Saw myself on some of them too.

I can't wait to scan and post some of the old pictures I have lingering around.

Please sign up and check it out, its free! Beware... its addicting though.

Job Situation

Well my job situation seems to change every couple of weeks. The last 3 weeks I have been filling in for someone I know who was off taking care of family matters. Well she returned this tuesday after the long weekend but I was asked to stay on as much as possible to help them get caught up with many needed things. This was at www.valleyleather.ca a upholstery furniture manufacturer. Then Randstad the employment agency called with a 6 day placement at Coca Cola here in Brampton. I started training for the reception position yesterday and I must admit that I went home feeling quite gloomy. The thing is that it doesn't seem to matter how much I practice typing it never seems to improve my speed and my brain has a hard time capturing names on the phone(specially when I don't know them) and the lingo in the corporate world is also something I don't know yet. Then today I returned to Valley Leather to continue the work I had started.

Weeks ago I was trying to figure out what I am really supposed to be doing work wise and also realizing that as a single mom I need to make a decent living. So I decided to use my outgoing personality and walked into Leons furniture and began to ask a salesperson how I could do what he does? This sales rep. really liked my tenacity and spunk and kept saying to me that I would do well in sales and asked me to bring in my resume. I brought a resume in a few days later and he introduced me to a manager and I had a 30 minute or so interview, after which I filled out an application and was told I would have to meet with the head sales manager before anything else could proceed. Three days later I met the head sales manager who informed me that he was watching my interaction with the "Top sales rep" on that first day and had stepped in and told him to ask for my resume because he liked what he saw.

Today I was informed that I have been hired on by Leons! The job is solely commission so I have to work for every penny I receive. The sales reps at Leons do make a decent living though and it would give me the opportunity to make way above a level that a clerical position could pay.

So yes I will have to work weekends which is a drag and Bill has assured me he will take Anisten more on those working days. Leons has a 10 day training time in which you are paid just minimum wage so I have yet to stay in the poor zone for a bit.

I have been told that I would be starting in the electronics/appliance areas so who needs some technology?

An emerging young lady

I guess every parent has these moments... Anisten and I stopped at Walmart today to buy some cat food. On the way in the parking lot we run accross a lovely couple who had been part of our "Just me and the kids" program at Bramalea Baptist. They helped out as leaders.

Well if you know me then you know that I never could just pass by without saying hello and a few other words. Well the proud moment came when as we say our good byes and walk away that Anisten says to me "wasn't it nice to run into them" it sounded so grown up and so polite... not that is not the proper term "caring" would be better.

Saturday Anisten will turn 10 and it seems like only yesterday that the holloring, crying, colicy baby was in my arms. Now I see a young lady emerging who cares for others. I also see a young lady who is known to many as talented and deep thinker/introspective who is not afraid to be an individual and stand up for what is right.

I guess today I am not the rantin chick but the gushing mother chick!

What? Okay... Maybe it was just my imagination?

Last Sunday night I was fortunate to hear the testimony of a lady who spoke of how God cares and answers prayers for us.

This elderly lady told of a time many years how her husband had been layed off and they had gone for 3 days without proper nourishment so she took time from her 3 children to go down to the basement and cry out in desperation to God for food.

After a while she "heard in her head" a voice saying "go to the store and buy milk" She did not have a penny to her name but none the less she packed up her 3 children and headed to the store.

At the store she knew she couldn't go in without money, after a short time she decided that it must of been her own imagination and not God, so she turned around and started walking home when she looked down and saw a $10 bill on the sidewalk. At that time $10 not only bought her milk but a whole weeks worth of groceries!

And some still think there is no God and/or that he isn't good? This lady and I would beg to differ.

I am the Rantin chick after all

So I am going to rant! OK being single sucks at times. But the issue really surprises me at times. Today I surprised Anisten and we went to Walmart to buy a new bike for her, as the old one was pretty small by now. Well off course the guys who built the bike at Walmart couldn't take the extra 5 seconds to pump up the wheels to the proper pressure so I had to detour on the way home to a gas station. So I find myself boiling on the inside, and realize that pumping up the tires is something I am more than capable of doing but guess what? I want a man to do it for me. Does this make me weak? No I think just honest.

God did make man and woman to be together and be helpmates to one another so I think my anger, desire, longing whatever you want to call it is ingrained in me. So the problem is I am alone....... And yes that really stinks!

Oh well since I don't have the power to change this today I guess I have to rely on the wisdom of My Heavenly Father. One day at a time I go and I must remember that his Grace is enough to get me through each day. Hopefully it wont be too long of a wait.

God's Will for You, By James MacDonald

Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to live and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. 1 Thessalonians 4:1-7
As a pastor, I’m often asked questions about God’s will. “What does God want me to do?” is the most common. Others include: “Where does God want me to live?” “Who does God want me to marry?”
This may surprise you, but you won’t find answers to those questions in the Bible. God’s focus isn’t much on the externals; He’s interested in what’s happening inside you. God’s will is 98 percent about who you are. First Thessalonians 4:1-3 challenges, “You ought to walk and to please God . . . . For this is the will of God, your sanctification.” Sanctification is on the bull’s-eye of God’s will for your life.
Sanctification describes the process by which God takes sinful people and makes them holy. Holy is a great word. It means “set apart” or “distinct”-different from the world around us. God’s will for you is the process of taking what you used to look like (the world), and changing you to look more like Him. It means growing to be more like Christ. This is the will of God: To change us day by day to act and think more like Jesus.
Given this definition, you can have great hope when you think of “being in God’s will.” He’s using every experience, every struggle, every opportunity to sanctify you. Next time you wonder what God could be up to just say to yourself, “He’s changing me,” and you’ll be right. Next time disappointments or heartaches come (maybe you’re in the midst of them right now), try to imagine God Himself holding the hammer and chisel sculpting your likeness into Christ’s.
But why? Why is He so stuck on this matter of changing us? Because God’s will doesn’t have anything to do with whether you take that job in Peoria. God’s will for you is about how best to fulfill His purposes in our generation. To do that, God wants to demonstrate His power and splendor through your life. He wants to get you to the place where no matter what happens to you or what you go through, you trust Him and walk to please Him, and are committed wholly to what He’s doing in you and in the world. When you invite Him do His work in you, and watch Him display His awesomeness through you, you are living right in the center of His will for you.

CONCERNED ABOUT TOO MANY CARBS IN YOUR DIET?

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION

Eat and drink what you like.Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
