Recuperating now
Well the surgery is done and I am one less body part. Long story short, too much anesthisia couldn't wake up, much morphine on top of that, was told I had to go home, puked... and puked... and puked... got home and slept on and off... overnight slept and then went to work in the morning to the surprise of many to which I just replied "I told you I would be here today"

Awake and no place to go, yet.

So since I have began working I simply cannot sleep in. This morning is no exception, and it is one morning sleeping in would of been a good idea. I will be going for surgery today and getting my gall bladder taken out due to complications I am having of the fact that there is a 17 mm stone. The surgery is not till 12 noon and I have to be at the hospital by 10:30 a.m. and I am already dying for a large glass of water. I had to stop eating by 12 a.m. and no drink after 6 a.m. The eating part is no longer a problem for me since I read the book or should I say studied along with the book "Thin Within, a Grace based approach to weighloss" more info at www.thinwithin.org The 40 pounds I have lost in the past 5-6 months have been the easiest to loose and I no longer obsess about what, when or how much I will eat, I just eat when I am hungry(true hunger) but offcourse not this morning. The surgery will be done by Laparoscopy and is a day be at home in a few hours unless complications arise. Those who know me know that I plan on going to work tomorrow and I will most likely make it. I keep saying I am a tough lady.
By the way my eight weeks of working at Execaire was supposed to end on Friday but I was asked to stay on for now as the assistant to the inspector. I call the move "going to the testosterone zone" as I am the only woman working in the hangar, and only the 4th. in the whole company. I can say one thing "working with men is alot easier than working with a bunch of women!" I am really thankful to be able to work there and I truly enjoy going to work and look forward to learning much more about the Aviation industry. I keep salivating when I look at the helicopter(s) as I want a flight on it sooo bad. The executive jets are impressive but I have always wanted a helicopter ride.

lean not
So shall you find favor, good understanding, and high esteem in the sight of God and man.Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
Proverbs 3:4-6 (Amplified Bible)
What does it mean to "not rely on your own insight or understanding" it is something I am very much trying to live out. God being all knowing knows just that, "all" so when I am impatient with anything is that not just me acting the same as a child throwing a temper tantrum?
I find I am surrounded by so many good things that I longed for in past years yet I loose sight of this as my own thoughts lead to impatience and discontent.
Lord I need to trust your understanding and not mine! I don't see tomorrow or the hearts motivation of others and therefore I need to lean only on you and patiently wait! You allow me to experience this adventure called life, direct and make straight and plain my path, as I trust in you.

Oh Christmas Tree

I came home on Friday to find Anisten Putting up the Christmas tree. Those who know me are probably asking "Maria, you don't have it up yet it is almost December?" I have in the past been a little excited over putting up the tree either on October 31 or November 1 and I guess Anisten has taken up the torch. So after a quick trip to buy lights to replace old dead ones Saturday night became the night to decorate. Juliana, my friend Clarenas little girl was over to help.

Harvest Party 2006
Saturday, November 04, 2006
Do you remember the first time you opened your own bank account, and the emotions you felt? Well today Anisten had that priviledge as we signed up for both a savings and a checking account. Seems you can't take out the money unless you transfer it into the checking first.
For a while now we have used canning jars to hold our money into different categories and since her savings jar added up to over $15, I decided it was time to let the bank pay her to have the priviledge of holding it. I am looking forward to seeing her expression the first time she receives the wopping 2-3 cents of interest, at least I am hoping it will be that much.
Experiencing new things for the first time can be pretty exciting and she did not disappoint, while holding and caressing the brand new bank card she exclaimed
"I am now complete!"
to which I replied "oh really?"
"Oh mom... it is only an expression of how this makes me feel at the moment, nothing else"
Something about looking at the world through the eyes of a child!
Thank you Anisten for making me smile, today will forever be ingrained in my memory.
You are indeed Gods greatest gift to me. And I thank God that he has spared my life so I may share in these experiences with you. I love you Boo!
