Movies and Christmas day!

I never understood how movies could successfully open up on Christmas day until yesterday. Bill came over at 8 a.m. to be there as Anisten opened up her presents and by 9:30 a.m. he had gone home to sleep as his clock is messed up from working night shift. My parents went off to church and stayed there for the whole day as they have a special program and off course it wouldn't be a Ukrainian event without lots of food. My brothers live in Edmonton and so are the Sims whom we spent 5 great happy Christmases with in the past.

Wanda and Brent had invited us over if we wanted but Anisten wanted a quiet day to play with her new STUFF and plenty of it being TECHNOLOGY. She is also not big on going somewhere with people she doesn't know(blame her fathers genes for that one). We did get a chance to visit with Brent and Wanda the day before along with our long time friends Peter and Darlene, it's always good to see friends specially the ones you don't get to see often. Wanda and Brent always have an open door policy and I truly love them for it.

Soooo... I treated myself to watching Mission Impossible 3 on pay-per-view, I love action movies!!!!!!!!!!! Well that took me till about 11:30 a.m... And since Tom by this time had me in the ACTION mode I tried, and I mean tried to talk Anisten into going to see another action movie "Eragon"(I can feel some of you shuddering at the thought). She just wouldn't budge and stayed in her pj's all day until we went out on a drive to see the Christmas lights on homes which turned out to be a very lame idea since living in a multicultural and multi faith area doesn't lend itself to the masses decorating for the Christmas season.

NOW I KNOW
HOW HOLLYWOOD MAKES SO MUCH MONEY ON CHRISTMAS DAY!

Merry Green Christmas

Yes, we have green grass as of today Christmas eve. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all. Don't forget as you celebrate the true reason we celebrate.

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. John 3:16

Lectured

This Friday a friend of mine gave me a little talking about internet safety, actually it was a "nice" joking way of delivering a lecture. Since this friend is only looking out for my safety I have heeded the advice/lecture and made some changes so "I can't be traced" by removing some identifiable information. It didn't bother me and I never worried about this, it still really doesn't bother me since everyone is into this blogging thing and it is one of my favourite ways to find out what we are all up to, but I guess it doesn't hurt to be careful.

To my lecturer(oops I mean friend), you know who you are and I wouldn't want to give your name out for fear of it getting traced back to you and your identity stolen, yes I am being really sarcastic... can you sleep better now? :)

Recuperating now

Well the surgery is done and I am one less body part. Long story short, too much anesthisia couldn't wake up, much morphine on top of that, was told I had to go home, puked... and puked... and puked... got home and slept on and off... overnight slept and then went to work in the morning to the surprise of many to which I just replied "I told you I would be here today"

Awake and no place to go, yet.

So since I have began working I simply cannot sleep in. This morning is no exception, and it is one morning sleeping in would of been a good idea. I will be going for surgery today and getting my gall bladder taken out due to complications I am having of the fact that there is a 17 mm stone. The surgery is not till 12 noon and I have to be at the hospital by 10:30 a.m. and I am already dying for a large glass of water. I had to stop eating by 12 a.m. and no drink after 6 a.m. The eating part is no longer a problem for me since I read the book or should I say studied along with the book "Thin Within, a Grace based approach to weighloss" more info at www.thinwithin.org The 40 pounds I have lost in the past 5-6 months have been the easiest to loose and I no longer obsess about what, when or how much I will eat, I just eat when I am hungry(true hunger) but offcourse not this morning. The surgery will be done by Laparoscopy and is a day be at home in a few hours unless complications arise. Those who know me know that I plan on going to work tomorrow and I will most likely make it. I keep saying I am a tough lady.

By the way my eight weeks of working at Execaire was supposed to end on Friday but I was asked to stay on for now as the assistant to the inspector. I call the move "going to the testosterone zone" as I am the only woman working in the hangar, and only the 4th. in the whole company. I can say one thing "working with men is alot easier than working with a bunch of women!" I am really thankful to be able to work there and I truly enjoy going to work and look forward to learning much more about the Aviation industry. I keep salivating when I look at the helicopter(s) as I want a flight on it sooo bad. The executive jets are impressive but I have always wanted a helicopter ride.

A picture is worth a thousand words

Can you find Anisten in this picture? Toronto area has the reputation of being one of the most multicultural areas in the World, what do you think? Does it merit its title?

lean not

So shall you find favor, good understanding, and high esteem in the sight of God and man.

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
Proverbs 3:4-6 (Amplified Bible)

What does it mean to "not rely on your own insight or understanding" it is something I am very much trying to live out. God being all knowing knows just that, "all" so when I am impatient with anything is that not just me acting the same as a child throwing a temper tantrum?

I find I am surrounded by so many good things that I longed for in past years yet I loose sight of this as my own thoughts lead to impatience and discontent.

Lord I need to trust your understanding and not mine! I don't see tomorrow or the hearts motivation of others and therefore I need to lean only on you and patiently wait! You allow me to experience this adventure called life, direct and make straight and plain my path, as I trust in you.
