Job Situation

Well my job situation seems to change every couple of weeks. The last 3 weeks I have been filling in for someone I know who was off taking care of family matters. Well she returned this tuesday after the long weekend but I was asked to stay on as much as possible to help them get caught up with many needed things. This was at www.valleyleather.ca a upholstery furniture manufacturer. Then Randstad the employment agency called with a 6 day placement at Coca Cola here in Brampton. I started training for the reception position yesterday and I must admit that I went home feeling quite gloomy. The thing is that it doesn't seem to matter how much I practice typing it never seems to improve my speed and my brain has a hard time capturing names on the phone(specially when I don't know them) and the lingo in the corporate world is also something I don't know yet. Then today I returned to Valley Leather to continue the work I had started.

Weeks ago I was trying to figure out what I am really supposed to be doing work wise and also realizing that as a single mom I need to make a decent living. So I decided to use my outgoing personality and walked into Leons furniture and began to ask a salesperson how I could do what he does? This sales rep. really liked my tenacity and spunk and kept saying to me that I would do well in sales and asked me to bring in my resume. I brought a resume in a few days later and he introduced me to a manager and I had a 30 minute or so interview, after which I filled out an application and was told I would have to meet with the head sales manager before anything else could proceed. Three days later I met the head sales manager who informed me that he was watching my interaction with the "Top sales rep" on that first day and had stepped in and told him to ask for my resume because he liked what he saw.

Today I was informed that I have been hired on by Leons! The job is solely commission so I have to work for every penny I receive. The sales reps at Leons do make a decent living though and it would give me the opportunity to make way above a level that a clerical position could pay.

So yes I will have to work weekends which is a drag and Bill has assured me he will take Anisten more on those working days. Leons has a 10 day training time in which you are paid just minimum wage so I have yet to stay in the poor zone for a bit.

I have been told that I would be starting in the electronics/appliance areas so who needs some technology?
